Fr. Derrick Cameron, pastor at Sacred Heart Cathedral
I started Pastoral Team back in 2018 and desired for the Cathedral to thrive and grow in holiness with the help of the team. Then, Covid came and put everything on hold. Now, I am re-establishing a new Pastoral Team. I am looking forward to serving effectively and fruitfully Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish with the Pastoral Team. God bless.
Steve Frith has been a parishioner of Sacred Heart Cathedral since he moved to Kamloops 30 years ago. He married his wife Cheryl in the Cathedral, and their four children (Max, Juliana, Charlotte, and Jasper) were baptised here as well. His favourite scriptural passage is when St. Thomas said, “My Lord and my God!” (John 20:28). He likes cool breezes on warm days and seeing smiles on peoples’ faces.
My name is Dani Schoof and I have been a member of the Cathedral Parish for 35 years. My husband is Rod and we have two grown children, who attended St. Ann’s Academy many years ago. I have also 7 grown grandchildren. Some of my favourite things are reading, travelling, walking my dog Barnaby and riding my little horse Kindred. When it comes to parish life I am kept busy with being a member of CWL and the Serra Club. I also have the privilege of lectoring at Mass and am an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. Happy New Year to everyone.
Laurette and Mark Perren have been members of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish for 5 years and are very involved in the daily life of the Parish. Together they attend daily Mass, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, provide music for the 7 pm Saturday Mass, and while Mark is the Pastoral Assistant with the Parish, Laurette is ever working at his side. Together they served full time in the Northern Canadian Missions for 15 years. Mark is a K of C, Laurette is a CWL member. It is their fondest hope and prayer that all who attend SHC experience Christ in a personal way, especially in the Holy Eucharist.
My name is Binu Antony, an immigrant from India, and I have had the privilege of being a parishioner of SHC since 2017. Together with my wife, Simla Peter, whom I have been married to for five years, we have been blessed to journey in faith as a family. Simla joined me here in Kamloops three years ago from India, and since then, we are always tying to live a life fully committed to our faith and to the Church. As we continue to grow in our spiritual lives, we feel a deep calling to serve the Church in a more meaningful way. It would be an honor for us to be considered as members of the Pastoral Assistant Team, and we humbly offer ourselves in service to our Lord Jesus Christ, His Holy Church, and His holy people. We recognize that everything we have and are, is by the grace of God, and as Scripture reminds us, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” In this spirit, we surrender ourselves, with all our weaknesses, to His service. We kindly ask for your prayers, that we may be instruments of our Lord Jesus Christ in all we do. Thy kingdom come! In Jesus name Binu.
Hello. I’m Paul Muzzillo and have been asked by Father Derrick to be one of the Cathedral Assistant members. I have been a Sacred Heart parish member all my life. I am a lector for the Mass readings. Also, I am a member of the Knights Of Columbus. Recently, I retired from being a driving instructor after almost fourteen years. I am looking forward to being one of several Assistants at Sacred Heart Cathedral.
My name is Susan Berdusco, and I began attending Sacred Heart Cathedral after moving to Kamloops in 1993. Over the years I have been so blessed to grow in my faith as a member of the Church through many opportunities to participate: Children’s Liturgy, Faith formation for Children, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Formation, the Serra Club, liturgical ministries, parish retreats and celebrations and as an extension of the parish in the school each day learning about the Kingdom of God with His littlest ones. I look forward to this new opportunity to grow closer to Him together with our parish and community.
Peace be with you. I am John Annicchiarico, a life-long parishioner of Sacred Heart Cathedral. I have been an altar server, usher, reader, as well as a Parish Council member. I am humbled that I was asked by Father Derrick to serve on the Pastoral Team of Sacred Heart Cathedral. Please keep us all in your prayers as we joyfully work for the Lord and all Sacred Heart Parishioners in this Jubilee Year of 2025.
